Directions into Wilkes-Barre

2 hours from Harrisburg via I-81 North
2 hours from Philadelphia via the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike
2 hours from Morristown, New Jersey, via I-80 West
3 hours from Southern New England via I-84 West

From Northern New Jersey, New York, and vicinity:
Take I-80 West to the Delaware Water Gap and continue to either of the following routes: (The second route listed below is not advised during the winter months.)

  1. Follow I-80 West to Exit 42, the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit. Continue north on the Turnpike to the first exit (Exit 36, Wilkes-Barre). Follow 115 North. (See Entering Wilkes-Barre)
  2. Follow I-80 West to Exit 43 (Blakeslee). Follow 115 North. (See Entering Wilkes-Barre)

From Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Southern New York State:
Follow I-84 West to I-380 West to I-81 South to Exit 47B (Route 115). (See Entering Wilkes-Barre)

From Central New Jersey:
Follow I-287 North to I-80 West, then continue to either of the following routes. (The second route listed below is not advised during the winter months.)

  1. Follow I-80 West to Exit 42, the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit. Continue north on the Turnpike to the first exit (Exit 36, Wilkes-Barre). Follow 115 North. (See Entering Wilkes-Barre)
  2. Follow I-80 West to Exit 43 (Blakeslee). Follow 115 North. (See Entering Wilkes-Barre)

From Harrisburg, Pa., Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia:
Follow I-81 North from Harrisburg to Wilkes-Barre, Exit 47B (Route 115). (See Entering Wilkes- Barre)

From Delaware, Philadelphia, and Southern New Jersey:
Pick up I-476 N or the East-West Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) in Philadelphia and travel to Exit 36, Wilkes-Barre. Follow Route 115 North. (See Entering Wilkes-Barre)

From Western Pennsylvania:
Follow I-80 East to I-81 North to Exit 47B (Route 115). (See Entering Wilkes-Barre)


Entering Wilkes-Barre:
Route 115 North becomes Route 309 North. Follow Route 309N and take Exit 3 (Wilkes-Barre/Plains). Follow the exit ramp to the traffic light and turn left onto North River Street. Follow the signs to Wilkes-Barre for 1.5 miles. As you approach the King's campus you will see the Luzerne County Courthouse on your right at the corner of North River and North Streets.
